After mercury amalgam removal, patients have to begin a detoxification process to remove the toxins that have been accumulating for years. Every detoxification program is customized for the individual patient’s needs. Often we work in concert with the patient’s physician or complementary healthcare provider. Nevertheless, a proper detoxification protocol begins with a nutritional program and the necessary supplementation. In general, high levels of sulfur-containing foods, such as egg yolks, and supplements such as glutathione and selenium, are critically important; these binding agents are lost in the urine, bowel movements, and sweat, and must be replenished on a daily basis.
To aid the body in eliminating heavy metals, as well as other toxins such as pesticides or chemicals, we have found a combination of specific homeopathic remedies to be very gentle, reliable, and effective. We use three combinations of homeopathic. One formula supports the organs of elimination, especially the liver and kidneys. Another combination works inside the cells to enable them to function more efficiently. The third formula is specific to the toxin being targeted, for example, metals, chemicals, or pesticides.
Mercury is a strong oxidant, and thus an antioxidant such as Vitamin C is beneficial. Intravenous Vit C the day of mercury removal is helpful and is available in our office.
