Detoxification After Mercury Amalgam Removal

Home / Dentistry / Detoxification After Mercury Amalgam Removal

After mercury amalgam removal, patients have to begin a detoxification process to remove the toxins that have been accumulating for years.  Every detoxification program is customized for the individual patient’s needs.  Often we work in concert with the patient’s physician or complementary healthcare provider.  Nevertheless, a proper detoxification protocol begins with a nutritional program and the necessary supplementation.  In general, high levels of sulfur-containing foods, such as egg yolks, and supplements such as glutathione and selenium, are critically important; these binding agents are lost in the urine, bowel movements, and sweat, and must be replenished on a daily basis.
