NEED YOUR HELP NOW – PLEASE CONTACT YOUR CT LEGISLATOR

Dear NDs, ND Students, Friends and Advocates,

CNPA (Connecticut Naturopathic Physicians Associaton) and UB College of Naturopathic Medicine are making progress in our effort to bring prescriptive authority to Naturopathic Doctors in Connecticut. Our Bill is H.B. No. 5294: ‘AN ACT CONCERNING NATUROPATHS’, will establish a procedure for naturopathic physicians to use LIMITED prescription medications.

YOUR ACTION IS NEEDED RIGHT NOW. We are targeting Public Health Committee members (PHC) as our Bill H.B. 5294 awaits a positive vote by the committee members to keep it moving. If your legislator is on the Public Health Committee your ACTION “NOW” IS CRUCIAL! (see link below).

NDs, ND students, family members, friends, and supporters have a role regardless of where in CT they live:

• If your legislator is a member of the PHC, contact them to tell them you want them to vote YES on HB 5294.
• If your legislator is NOT on the Public Health Committee (PHC), contact them to tell them you want them to encourage PHC members to vote YES on HB 5294.

IT IS IMPERATIVE… Only contact a PHC member IF you live in their district. Legislators LISTEN mostly to THEIR constituents.

We also have another way to determine if you legislator is on the PCH and how to contact them. We created an automated email to help people send a letter to legislators on the Public Health Committee:

• If your State Legislator is NOT a member of the PHC , click on this link to send a letter http://www.congressweb.com/AANP/66/. Ask your legislator to speak with PHC members to support passing our bill out of the committee.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ADD A PERSONAL NOTE IN THE AREA PROVIDED.

Please keep in mind, even if your legislator is not on the PHC, the representative of family, friends, patients, or supporters may be. Ask them to contact the member. You can share the above links.
