FAQ's About IV Therapy

FAQ about IV Therapy
Is IV therapy safe?

Yes, our IV therapy is safe. Before you receive any treatment, your health history is carefully evaluated, and your vital signs are taken. Every IV is performed by one of our IV nurses and is under medical supervision. Our IV ingredients are obtained from reliable and accredited pharmacies and suppliers. After your IV session, you may resume your normal activities.

Is there anything I need to do before my IV session?

Please drink plenty of water, especially starting 1 hour prior to your IV. This will make your veins more easily accessible for the IV nurse. It is also a good idea to consume a snack or a little food prior to your session.

Are there possible reactions to any medications I am on?

Very few medications interact with the IV therapy. While filling out your health forms, and when speaking with the nurse, it is important for you to remember to put down all medications you take, as well as any known or suspected allergies.

Are there any side effects from having an IV?

Side effects are generally non-existent or very mild. Bruising or soreness may occur from the IV site and is commonly short-lived. A vitamin smell in your urine, metallic taste, or flushed feeling after certain IV drips are normal. Please make the nurse aware of any known allergens so that these ingredients can be avoided in your IV. If you experience any worrying symptoms, please advise the nurse.

How long does an IV session take?

In general, your IV should take between 30 minutes to one hour. The nurse will administer your drip at a safe and comfortable rate. You can spend your time relaxing, reading, listening to music, or working on your tablet or laptop device while connected to our free WIFI. Feel free to bring your device and a headphone to your session.

Will it hurt to have an IV placed?

Our staff is well trained to easily find good veins; most people will barely feel the IV placement. At the most, you may feel a slight pinprick.

Who supervises my IV?

We have a licensed physician, who oversees the operations of the IV center. He may or may not be present at the time of your visit. One of our professional, licensed IV nurses will administer and monitor you while receiving your infusion.

Why can’t I just take supplements to achieve the results I want?

Adding oral supplements to a healthy diet is a wonderful way to enhance your health and wellbeing. However, not all supplements are readily absorbed. The quality of the product, and even the health of your own GI tract, may ultimately result in only a small percentage of what you ingested arriving into the cells of your body. However, the moment your IV infusion begins, powerful nutrients are instantly circulated into your blood stream and then readily absorbed by your cells. IV nutrient therapy bypasses the digestive process, delivering 100% of pure quality nutrients to your cells.

What conditions does IV Therapy address?

IV therapy works by infusing essential vitamins, minerals, and amino acids directly into the body. IV Therapy can support treatment for many concerns and conditions, including youthful aging, enhanced athletic performance and recovery, increased energy, immune system boost, detoxification, alleviation from the symptoms of a hangover and more. Our IV menu is designed to offer information and benefits of each IV as well as a list of ingredients in each drip. Boosters are also available. In addition, you can find a brief description of the vitamins, minerals and amino acids that are either in your drip, or maybe added to your drip. If you need additional guidance, please ask your IV nurse.

What Can I expect to feel after my first infusion?

Depending on your nutritional hydration status, you may see dramatic effects after your first IV. Those who receive regular IVs will generally notice improved energy and overall improvement in health and wellbeing.

How often can I have an IV drip?

Many people report feeling more energy and a greater sense of wellbeing after just one infusion. However, it is not uncommon to have more than one treatment a week. You may decide to do weekly, biweekly, or monthly treatments. To help you achieve the best results for the best price possible, we offer monthly memberships. Besides a regularly scheduled IV, stressors like air travel, fighting off cold and flu symptoms, should prompt you to schedule an IV session.

Is there any way to know what my nutritional status is?

Yes. You can schedule a separate appointment with one of our integrative physicians. A thorough intake, laboratory testing, and evaluation will allow our physicians to assess your nutritional status, and to determine if any toxins or other interferences are found.

Do you offer any other services?

Yes. Among the many services we offer, there are several that work well with selected IV drips. If you are undergoing infusions to promote detoxification, consider adding an Ionic Foot Bath session or even a doctor-supervised colonic session.
