NeuroEdge | Focus Your Brain

January, 2018

Your brain is you. Nothing is more important than keeping your brain healthy. Your brain is your “mission control," it’s the captain of your ship (your body). You are even using your brain right now to read this. It should come as no surprise that with life comes, well, “life” --stuff happens. You may have a car accident or a sports injury to your head; you may suffer a stroke; you may experience an overwhelming stressful situation that leads to anxiety and depression or maybe you are just getting older (why did I come into this room anyway?). What results to all these events have in common? The answer is abnormal or less than optimal brainwave patterns –a dysregulation in the brain. Different conditions exhibit different abnormal brain wave patterns.

What if there were a safe, simple, and effective way to eliminate abnormal brainwave patterns by creating more normal brainwave patterns?  What if this process could help with a wide array of concerns like difficulty concentrating, traumatic head injuries that impact your whole life, your aging brain concerns, depression and anxiety, and even helping you to stay sharp in the competitive business world, excel in school and be at the top of your game on the playing field? Well, there is something that can help with all these–Neurofeedback.

The NeuroEdge Brain Performance Center focuses on your brain. We are dedicated to healing, improving, and keeping your brain sharp and high-performing. Neurofeedback therapy is one of the neurotherapies we use at the NeuroEdge. Neurofeedback therapy, also known as EEG Neurofeedback therapy, is a noninvasive, pain-free therapy session that uses an electroencephalogram (EEG) to measure the brain's electrical activity. During a neurofeedback session, special software prompts the brain to subconsciously eliminate abnormal brainwave patterns. During your session, your brain is “rewarded” when more optimal brainwave patterns are displayed. This “reward” may be as simple as making a movie brighter or providing audible feedback. Normally your brain can’t see how it is performing, but with EEG, your brain receives positive feedback when it exhibits a “good” brain wave pattern. Your brain learns and remembers how to exhibit “good” patterns.

The number of neurofeedback sessions varies with each patient’s health concern. Sometimes just a few sessions bring about the desired change, while a more serious condition, such as a recovery from a stroke, may require many more sessions. Many of our other therapies, like hyperbaric oxygen therapy, altitude contrast training, transcranial electrical stimulation, photobiomodulation, pulsed electromagnetic field, and cranial osteopathy aid in healing the injured brain.

Conditions treated include:

  • Head/Brain Trauma or Injuries
  • Learning disabilities
